This is a still scene from the Rome series which sadly ended...my favourite series of recent times.
It's a present for my Brother for his Birthday.

Approximately 200 hours work as shown by WIPs over the course of 12 months.

a crazy amount of hours went into this piece but the resulting drawing is completely representative of your hard work.

the detail in the shading and textures, the depth and overall visceral feeling emanating from this piece is a true testament to how amazing this drawing is.

I think that's the battle that was being portrayed. They certainly look Germanic from their clothing.

I thought so as It was truly epic battle. I am not history expert but I remember that three Roman Legions has been crushed and slaughtered in Teutoburg Forest. You did wonderful job depicting scene from that battle.
